Why Scripture Memorization

Why Memorization

The practice of Scripture memorization is much more rewarding than most people realize. It is a practice which many Christians have jettisoned owing to its ‘demanding’ nature.
In children, it lays such an incredible and indelible foundation with which their lives can be built upon and changed for all eternity. In adults, memorization generally stretches our minds, strengthens our prayer lives, enhances our witnessing, changes our attitudes and outlook, our minds become alert and our confidence sours!

It was Chuck Swindoll, Author and Bible Teacher who once said: "I know of no other single practice in the Christian life more rewarding, practically speaking, than memorizing Scripture...No other single exercise pays greater spiritual dividends!
Getting into and sustaining this discipline could be a very herculean task, even for adults. But with the adoption of good resources as this, it becomes a lot simpler and more attainable.

In Joshua 1:8, scripture says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
